The old days in Japan, people sew their jeans when it had a hole and wear it again. People also made floor cloth out of used towels, and people trimmed wooden cutting mat when it got older and use it again. I think it's very good behavior in terms of recycling products. I don't see those things nowadays though.

この話は戦後の日本の貧しい頃の話ですよ。何故知ってるの？僕が少年の頃はズボンもつぎはぎだらけだったし、好きな女の子の前では恥ずかしかったですよ。Yukiさんはおいくつなんでしょうか？

年齢は忘れてしまいました。わはは。子供のころ、よく転んでズボンの膝がすりむけるので、可愛いアップリケを貼りましょうという記事を読んだんだか、そういう人がいたのか、なんだか記憶にありました。まな板を削るのは私の母がやっていましたよ。まな板削り屋さんがいるようです。最近はいないので、残念がってました。
